Standing!
Elsa is standing on her own, and she is very proud of herself... not too long before she starts taking a couple steps!

Elsa's 9th Month
Sorry this one is a little late... I'm sure the wait has been excrutiating!
Elsa's 9th month has been chopped full of stuff- starting with Thanksgiving at the Daleys and the Collins-Sawicki households. It was great to see Nana, Pop-Pop, and the Marsh family and then to follow it up with our inherited Collins family. The next day Mom and Dale came over for leftover Friday... throughout it all Elsa stayed a social butterfly.
However, the theme of December was "tons of trips". We started the first week with a trip up to Boston. The McTeals were more than gracious to let Elsa take over their entire apartment.

Not only did they not mind, but they cooked us meals and drove us places! We're very lucky to have friends like that!
While we were in Boston we got to spend time with the Rixhams (minus Dave) and the whole Stano family. It was great to see everyone, and we got a lot of pictures from our time there.
We got back from Boston and a mere 11 days later we were taking off for San Francisco! The afternoon before I got a call from daycare that Elsa had a fever and was tugging at her ear. Afraid that it could be an ear infection, Brandon took her to the doctor. Turns out that it was just a head cold, but we still worried about the flight the next day. Fortunately Elsa was awesome! We were even stuck ON the plane in Denver for 3.5 hours and she was great the whole time. We couldn't believe how lucky we were.

Apparently it was because she was saving it for San Francisco. As soon as we go there her fever spiked, causing her to spend a lot of time with no clothes and a lot of wet washclothes. We made random runs out to Walgreens for Tylenol, then thermometers, then different formula when we couldn't get her to eat. Who knows if it is teething or she's sick, but she went through various shades of miserable while we were there. Luckily she also slept a lot so we could still enjoy a lot of day trips (although you'll notice in most of the pictures she is asleep).
We had a great time visiting Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Museum of Modern Art, tons of shops and walking around, and a peaceful candlelit protest against Proposition 8 in Union Square. We absolutely fell in love with San Francisco and we were so sad that we were only there for such a short time. But now we're happy that we get to spend a couple weeks at home enjoying the holidays with our family.
We hope everyone has a very safe and happy holiday!
